WEC Lines is pleased to unveil the enhanced NWC Portugal and NWC Canary Islands weekly services, connecting Portugal, Spain and the Canary Islands with Northern Europe in a fast, reliable & fully controlled operation.
WEC Lines has revamped both services to ensure shorter transit times and fixed-day, on-time departures. The strategically designed services encompass key ports; the NWC Portugal (NWC PT) service includes Rotterdam, Moerdijk, Antwerp, Vigo, Leixões, Setúbal and Montoir while the NWC Canary Islands (NWC CAI) service includes Hamburg, Thamesport, Moerdijk, Bilbao, Vigo, Leixões, Las Palmas, Santa Cruz, and Sines.
The upgraded NWC Canary Islands service will be operated with three 868-TEU owned vessels in a 21-day rotation, arriving in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria on Thursdays and Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Fridays with regular transshipment to Puerto de Rosario and Arrecife. A new Hamburg call has been included in the fixed rotation, enabling a 5-day transit time ex Leixões or an 8-to-9-day transit ex Canary Islands, and ex Hamburg to Bilbao, Leixões and Canary Islands in 6, 9 and 12-13 days, respectively.
“We are thrilled to see our services meet local demand for reliable shipping, ensuring our community’s businesses can efficiently reach wider markets and fostering continued economic growth right here in Gran Canaria, Tenerife and the other Canary Islands,” said Miguel Martín, Branch Manager Canarias at WEC Lines.
