Yang Ming launches new container vessels, “YM Wind” and “YM Wreath”

YM Wind and YM Wreath, new 14,000 TEU full-container vessels built at CSBC, were named at a ceremony held at CSBC Kaohsiung Shipyard on May 18, 2017. Ms. Mei-Jen Chang, wife of Mr. Wen-Jong Chi, administrative Deputy Minister of MOTC, was invited to sponsor the new ship” YM Wind” and Ms. Jun-Ling Wang, wife of Mr. Steven Tsao, the Executive Vice President of Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp., was invited to sponsor the new ship” YM Wreath”.
 

YM Wind and YM Wreath are the last two of five 14,000 TEU full-container vessels chartered by Yang Ming under construction at CSBC. The new ship is 368 meters long, 51 meters wide. It has 1,000 reefer plugs and a draft of 16 meters. The vessel can cruise at a speed up to 23 knots at Design Draft. Yang Ming strives for environmental protection, adopts the most advanced and latest equipment to prevent environmental pollution. This type of vessel is eco-friendly; it is equipped with AMP, ES propeller, ES Bow and full spade rudder which will reduce CO2 emissions and consume energy more efficiently.
 

Yang Ming aims to enlarge the fleet and lower the average age of its ships. With the deployment of these new vessels, Yang Ming could get more strength in the competitive market. Later, YM Wind and YM Wreath will be deployed to THE Alliance service, through this robust network, Yang Ming will provide customers with more complete and comprehensive delivery services. 
 

YM Wind is to be deployed in the FE3 Service. Her ports of call are in the following order: Hong Kong–Xiamen–Kaohsiung–Yantian–Rotterdam–Hamburg–Antwerp–London Gateway–Piraeus–Singapore–Hong Kong
YM Wreath is to be deployed in the MD3 Service. Her ports of call are in the following order: Pusan–Shanghai–Ningbo–Yantian–Singapore–Jeddah–Ashdod–Piraeus–Istanbul–Aliaga–Mersin–Jeddah–Singapore–Kaohsiung–Pusan
