The Latin American carrier, Tam Cargo, has inaugurated its new, USD 11.7 million, 15,000 sqm cargo terminal that is dedicated to handling domestic cargo. Located at Guarulhos airport in Sao Paulo state (Brazil), the new facility is the largest and most modern cargo terminal that the Latam Airlines Group owns in that country.

The terminal has a new structure and provides new services that represent a significant improvement vis-a-vis the previous, 9,800 sqm platform, which was also close to the airport.

The investment in terminal infrastructure started in 2013 with the inauguration of the Manaus cargo terminal, and continued in 2014, with Goiania, Natal and upgrades to 19 other terminals.

In 2015, apart from the Guarulhos cargo terminal, the carrier will complete work on Uberlândia, Ribeirão Preto and Sorocaba, and expects to inaugurate the terminals at Galeão in Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Brasilia and Fortaleza by the end of 2016. (Source: ITJ)
