Stream Tankers has entered into newbuilding contracts with Japan's Fukuoka Shipbuilding for up to five advanced 19,900DWT chemical tankers with cargo tanks in stainless steel.

The vessels will be of the new Fukuoka/Shitanoe eco-design hulls. Combined with modern efficient engines, the vessels will feature substantial fuel reductions when delivered in 2015 and 2016.
