Silk Way grows its fleet with Boeing 747-8S

Silk Way Airlines has ordered two Boeing 747-8 freighters, expanding its current fleet of aircraft to seven.

The national flag carrier for Azerbaijan, based at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, hopes the move will help strengthen its competitive position in the airfreight market.

�One of the goals of the Azerbaijani government is to continue building Baku�s strategic positioning as a trade hub,�reveals Jahangir Askerov, president of Azerbaijan Airlines and architect of the country�s civil aviation industry. �The addition of the new Boeing 747-8 Freighters will enable Silk Way Airlines to expand its operations and help the government achieve its objective.�
