The Port of Shanghai's container throughput remained flat in June compared to the same month last year, at 2.77 million TEUs, according to data from the exclusive operator of all of the public terminals at the port, Shanghai International Port (Group) Co. (SIPG).

However, June volumes were 5.7 per cent less than in the preceding month of May when 2.94 million TEUs was handled. In the first half of 2013, Shanghai port's total container volume rose by three per cent year-on-year to reach 16.34 million TEUs.
