Shanghai May volume rises 4.7pc to 3.16 million TEU, up on April by 1.5pc

The Port of Shanghai posted a 4.7 per cent year-on-year increase in container volume in May to 3.16 million TEU, according to the Shanghai International Port (Group) Co (SIPG).

On a month-to-month comparison, volumes rose 1.5 per cent from 3.11 million TEU handled in April this year, reports Seatrade Global.

In the first five months of this year, Shanghai port moved a total throughput of 14.95 million TEU, up 4.2 per cent year on year.
