Seaspan announces order for twelve 9,200 TEU LNG-ready container vessels

Seaspan is pleased to announce it has entered into agreement with two leading global shipyards under the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Group for the construction of twelve (12) 9,200 TEU LNG-ready container vessels, reflecting a significant investment in sustainable and scalable fleet expansion. The LNG-ready design of the vessels supports the industry’s transition toward cleaner energy solutions, ensuring the vessels’ readiness for future conversion into dual fuel technologies, and is aligned with Seaspan’s decarbonization strategy and goals.

All twelve (12) vessels are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2028 and will be chartered for an extended period under a long-term agreement with a leading global liner. This agreement marks another milestone in Seaspan’s orderbook, reinforcing its reputation as a premier owner and builder of next-generation container ships designed to meet the evolving operational and environmental goals of its customers.
