NYK took delivery of a new 174,000 m3 LNG carrier

The new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier "ELISA AQUILA" ordered by their  affiliated company France LNG Shipping  will be transferred to Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Ltd. on March 3. It was completed. Based on a long-term charter contract with Italy's major electric power company Edison , the vessel will carry out LNG transportation for up to 20 years under the control of the French ship management company Gazocean .

The ship is equipped with a dual fuel low-speed diesel engine  manufactured by WinGD, which has excellent fuel consumption efficiency, in her main engine. She also employs a 174,000 cubic meter membrane cargo tank with excellent heat protection and Air Liquide equipment that can reliquefy excess boil-off gas for efficient operation.

On February 3, 2021, the Group announced the "NYK Group ESG Story", which aims to further accelerate the integration of ESG into its management strategy. In order to strongly promote ESG management, the Group will proactively work on the transportation and stable supply of LNG, which is expected as a low-carbon fuel and a bridge to the spread of zero-emission fuel in the future, and will be renewed as a "Sustainable Solution Provider".
