MSR Gryfia signs icebreakers contract

Maritime Repair Shipyard Gryfia SA, officially signed an agreement for the construction of four icebreakers for the Regional Water Management Board in Gda?sk.

The construction of icebreakers will be financed by the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020, amounting to 85%.

The execution date of the order has been set for the fourth quarter of 2021. The units will be built at the plant in Szczecin. Construction supervision will be performed by the Polish Register of Shipping. This is another series of icebreakers that builds the IGI Gryffindor. In 2014, two similar units: Stanislaw and Andrzej were transferred to RZGW Szczecin. At present, RZGW Gda?sk has five icebreakers - Foka, ?bik, Tigger, Orka and Shark, which are from 24 to 31 years old.
