MBS Logistics announced it is charting the course for future growth with the expansion of its management team: Joerg Roehl joins as an additional CEO of the Cologne-based holding company, effective 1 February 2023. Together with the company’s current executive leadership members, Andreas Janetzko and Daniel Steckel, Roehl will work to further increase the MBS’s global presence and success.
With more than 30 years of experience in the freight forwarding and shipping industry, Roehl brings a key focus on sea freight as well as project logistics management. Most recently, Roehl served as CEO for logistics provider Natco / Trans Global Projects in Switzerland. Prior to this role, he held numerous corporate management positions at Kühne & Nagel International, Geis Cargo, Bolloré Logistics, Agility Logistics and Hansa Heavy Lift.
Roehl’s leadership background, combined with his almost 15 years of experience in Singapore’s logistics market, is expected to deliver strategic value for MBS. In addition to other initiatives, the company intends to further develop its activities in Asian and European markets (especially Switzerland and Germany) as well as grow its services in the project logistics sector.
“Together with MBS Holding’s two other shareholders, Johannes Steckel and Georg Ludwig, I would like to warmly welcome Joerg to MBS,” shares Bernd Wilkes, founder and shareholder of MBS. “We are very pleased to bring Joerg into our company at a time when we are focused on international expansion as well as investment in future product lines.”
“I am excited to work together to advance MBS Logistics’ core competencies, namely air and sea freight,” explains Roehl. “Furthermore, I see great opportunities for the company to focus on the project logistics sector as well as increase investments in the Swiss and Asian logistics markets, regions where I have been able to gain many years of experience. I believe this growth potential – as well as working alongside a professional and energetic global team – are great prospects.”
