Kuwait Airways and Middle East Airlines sign codeshare agreement

Kuwait Airways announces the signing of a bilateral codeshare agreement between Kuwait Airways and Middle East Airlines- Air Liban which was held at the Kuwait Airways' headquarters in the presence of respective delegations from both carriers.

The agreement which is introduced marks the beginning of scheduled flight operations for the summer. The codeshare is introduced for flights between Kuwait and Beirut destinations and vice versa. ?

“We are delighted on this partnership, especially between two of the region's leading airline companies, namely, Kuwait Airways and Middle East Airlines and we look forward to increasing the frequency of flights through the agreement" stated Mr. Sami Al-Rushaid, Chairman of Kuwait Airways. Mr. Al-Rushaid added that the introduction of the codeshare agreement with Middle East Airlines provides passengers with a selection of more than 24 weekly frequencies on the Kuwait-Beirut-Kuwait route and vice versa. Kuwait Airways currently operates 11 weekly flights on A320 and A330 aircraft to Beir??ut, while Middle East Airlines operates 13 weekly flights with the same fleet size from Beirut to Kuwait, which provides latest and distinct addition to both companies in achieving their marketing objectives on the route. 

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of ?Middle East Airlines- Air Liban, Mr. Mohamad El-Hout, mentioned that the codeshare agreement will strengthen and enhance commercial ties between Kuwait and Lebanon, by providing more suitable and convenient options for customers of both airlines. Moreover, the cooperation is considered among the highest level of partnership between the two companies since their establishment and also from a commercial perspective in the rapidly growing relations between the two countries. El-Hout added that the signing of the codeshare agreement coincides with Kuwait Airways' growing sales with respect to Beirut destination. Furthermore, Beirut is considered as one of the main destinations for its touristic and historic attractions, excellent hospitality and significant features that make Lebanon a worthwhile experience for passengers. El-Hout pointed that the codeshare agreement is dedicated to the people of Kuwait and Lebanon.
