"K" Line has announced that the Millau Bridge, the first of five 14,000-TEU vessels ordered in 2013, has been duly delivered last week.

The vessel will be deployed on the Asia-Europe service (NE2) under the CKYHE Alliance. The NE2 will be upsized following the delivery of the remaining 4 vessels, along with similar-sized vessels of its partners.

The line has placed an order for 5 more 14,000-TEU vessels, which are due to be delivered in 2018, taking its ultra-large container vessel fleet, with the latest energy-saving technologies, to 10 units in total. "These 10 vessels will be the flagships of our containership business, with which we shall continue to deliver a service of high quality to our valued customers," emphasised a company statement.
