Jiangnan Shipyard wins order for LNG carriers
Jiangnan Shipbuilding and Guangdong Jiufeng Energy Group Co., Ltd. signed a contract for the construction of two 79,000 cubic meters LNG ships.
Designed by Jiangnan Shipbuilding, the model is named "Sino-Flex" and is a type of handy LNG carrier built for domestic LNG terminals. With a capacity of 79,800 cubic meters, it is equipped with dual fuel mains and generators to meet the new IGC regulations and Tier III requirements. The cargo tank is patented by the French GTT Mark III Flex film-type cargo containment system. The two ships are expected to be delivered in 2021.
The project is another film-type liquefied gas carrier project after Jiangnan Shipbuilding has inherited the construction of four 22,000-tank container ship membrane fuel tanks. The undertaking of the project further proves the independent research and development capability of Jiangnan Shipbuilding in various types of liquefied gas carriers, and expands the influence of Jiangnan-type liquefied gas carriers on the international market. It is important for the company to undertake membrane VLEC and large LNG vessels significance.
