HMM announced it's joining of the Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) with CMA CGM, Evergreen, Yang Ming and ZIM as members.

CMA CGM was confirmed to be a founding member of DCSA and hence, will become a part of the Supervisory Board, in addition to A.P. Moller – Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd, MSC and ONE. The other four ocean carriers, HMM, Evergreen, Yang Ming and ZIM, are pending regulatory approval.

With nine of the largest container shipping lines in the world from both Asia and EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), DCSA represents a substantial part of the industry.

"Digitization is not only right but also the only path to follow for all of the stakeholders in shipping industry. HMM will cooperate with colleague liners very closely to find out the best route for greeting the upcoming digital era. We strongly believe in that the collective intelligence makes the better outcomes," says Kyungin  Jung, Senior Vice President, CIO of HMM.
