Godby Shipping expands fleet
Godby Shipping Ab has acquired the RoRo vessel Transporter from Eckerö Shipping Ab Ltd. marking a strategic step forward in their fleet expansion and commitment to our key customers.
The vessel, built in 1991, has a capacity of approximately 1250 lane meters and is ideally suited for transporting paper and a wide range of rolling cargo, including trailers, mafis, trucks, and heavy machinery.
The vessel’s current crew will remain onboard, ensuring continuity of service for the customer DFDS. The vessel is currently on time charter to DFDS in their liner trade between Fredrikstad, Halden, Norway, Zeebrugge, Belgium and Immingham, UK. They will take over the time charter with DFDS until end December 2025. The delivery will take place within the trading area between 15 October and 22 November 2025. We will also keep the name Transporter.
With this acquisition, They now operate a fleet of eight vessels, strengthening their position as a reliable tonnage provider in the roro market. The roro market is strong and there are not that many roro vessels in this size available. They strongly believe there will be a future demand for roro vessels in the smaller size segment.
