Finnair Cargo enhances capacity to Asian and North American routes

Finnair Cargo's summer timetable begins on 31 March, and this year the summer season brings added capacity to both Asian and North American routes.

For freighter operations Finnair Cargo is adding a 3rd weekly frequency for the Helsinki " Hanoi " Hong Kong " Helsinki rotation. This new frequency provides more capacity on these trade lanes between Asia and Europe, with departures from Helsinki to Hanoi and Hong Kong on Thursdays and return flights towards Europe on Fridays.

Seasonal Xi'an route returns again with 3 weekly Airbus A330 flights starting on 30 March. Hanoi passenger aircraft service is upgraded with Airbus A340 serving the route this summer three times per week, starting 02 June. On Hong Kong route additional A340 flights will bring the total number of weekly frequencies served with passenger aircraft up to 7-9, completing our freighter service operated with MD11F three times per week.

Connections between North America will be enhanced with 3 weekly flights to Toronto, starting 01 June. This route will now be served with A330, which improves the cargo capacity compared to previous years' B757 flights. New York freighter service on Thursdays is suspended but daily flights with passenger aircraft between New York and Helsinki continue to serve our cargo customers on this trade lane.

Finnair Cargo's 2nd hub, Brussels, will be served with 2 weekly MD11F freighter rotations with flights from Helsinki on Fridays and Sundays, and returns from Brussels on Saturdays and Mondays. In addition a weekly A340 passenger aircarft service is flown on Thursdays as well as 4 daily narrowbody flights, connecting to Finnair's over 90 weekly flights between Helsinki and 13 Asian cargo gateways.
