Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering delivered a 308,000-dwt VLCC
On August 28th, the 308,000 DWT VLCC "YUANKUNYANG" was named and delivered successfully DALIAN COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co.,Ltd.
The VLCC “YUANKUNYANG”, with a total length of 333 meters, a depth of 30 meters and a design speed of 15.5 knots, is the latest generation of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly VLCC built by DALIAN COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co.,Ltd., based on previous VLCC models.
By optimizing the line and hull structure, the weight of the empty ship is reduced reasonably, the lightweight design is realized to the maximum extent, and the cabin capacity is maximized. Through these new optimisation and the original design advantages of the ship, the actual tonnage of the "YUANKUNYANG " completed and delivered by DALIAN COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co.,Ltd., is thousands of tons higher than the same size ship designed in market. The fuel consumption of the main engine is about 6% lower than that of similar ships on the market, and the operating cost can be saved about $500,000 per ship per year.
