COSCO SHIPPING Lines launches GEM2 service

COSCO SHIPPING Lines CO., LTD is pleased to announce the launch of GEM2 service between South Asia and East Mediterranean from July 2nd Karachi, 2017. The service will be operated in collaboration with Ocean Alliance partner CMA CGM and its affiliate APL.

 This service will provide direct callings between South Asia and Turkey with competitive transit time. Meanwhile, COSCO SHIPPING Lines will leverage the major hub of Piraeus to offer comprehensive coverage at North Europe, Black Sea and Adriatic, along with swift transit to Centre Europe and the Balkans by Land-Sea Express service.

 To be more specific, the transit time to Rotterdam is 23 days from Mundra and 25 days from Nhava Sheva via Piraeus, and the transit time from Mersin is 11 days to Karachi, 13 days to Mundra and 15 days to Nhava Sheva.

The service will be comprised of 5 x 4,250TEU vessels operating on fixed weekly rotation, as follows: Khor Fakkan – Karachi – Nhava Sheva – Mundra – Djibouti – Jeddah – Damietta – Piraeus – Malta – Aliaga – Mersin – Port Said West – Khor Fakkan*?

 With this new launch, COSCO SHIPPING Lines will be able to optimize the network between South Asia and Mediterranean and significantly enhance connections between the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Europe, providing more diversified services to our customers.
