Bulk Carrier arrested in Singapore over bunker dispute

A ship owned by Essar Shipping has been arrested in Singapore over a dispute with fuel supplier Bunker House Petroleum, Reuters reports.

The 106,438-deadweight tonne (dwt) Kishorewas carrying iron ore from Brazil to China at the time of the arrest on Sunday. A source at Essar Shipping said Thursday that the ship "should sale out today," but no details or official comment on the dispute were available.

Essar Shipping, a division of global steel, energy and infrastructure corporation Essar, has a fleet of 27 vessels including very large crude carriers, mini-bulk carriers, tugs, and capesize vessels that transport crude oil and products, and has 12 newbuilding vessels on order, according to its website.
