American Airlines named Cargo Airline of the Year 2017

American Airlines was named Best-of-the-Best Corporations for Inclusion by the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the business voice of the LGBT community, in collaboration with its partners in the National Business Inclusion Consortium (NBIC). It is the second consecutive year American has received this honor.

American Airlines has gone the extra mile for diversity and inclusion across their operation and throughout their supply chain. Criteria required to be named a 2017 Best-of-the-Best corporation includes the completion of a detailed survey of an organization's inclusive programs, including Supplier Diversity initiatives, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), workplace engagement opportunities, and diverse marketplace and community engagements. Additionally, a detailed report of policies and achievements in the diversity and inclusion space ” along with recognition or ratings such as the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index, the U.S. Business Leadership Network's Disability Equality Index or Diversity Inc.'s Top 50 ” is weighted and reviewed by a committee of NBIC leaders.
