American Airlines Cargo appoints new VP, Strategy & Development

American Airlines Cargo has announced the promotion of Jessica Tyler to Vice President, Strategy and Development. Her organization will focus on the future, specifically how the carrier plans and invests in the right technology, products, partnerships and ways of doing business to best serve customers. She will also continue leading American’s digital transformation initiative that will replace 90 percent of the organization’s legacy technology, enabling end-to-end business process and customer experience modernization.

Tyler joined American Airlines in 2012, where she led the team that merged the cargo divisions of US Airways and American Airlines, an integration that the industry considered the most successful cargo merger to date. Prior to her role at American, she was a Global Practice Leader at Gallup, Inc. She worked with Fortune 100 executive teams to architect strategies that strengthened the employee-customer experience, and was responsible for product development, employee and customer-facing technology, third-party relationships, and the change management interventions deployed within client organizations.

Jessica holds a doctoral degree and MBA from Texas Christian University (TCU) and a degree in mathematics from Vanderbilt University. She’s actively involved in her community, having served on the board of a local non-profit and volunteering with several organizations. She lives with her husband and three sons in Southlake, Texas.
